Hyperhidrosis Treatment – Stop Excessive Sweating

Why do I sweat so much?

If you’re looking for affordable and expert hyperhidrosis treatment in Oxford or Didcot our highly rated and experienced team can help.

Our  hyperhidrosis expert is Dr Ajay Murgai (GDC No: 85639) who has over 14 years extensive dentistry experience. Dr Ajay runs clinics in Hertfordshire, South Oxfordshire and Harley Street and carries out a full spectrum of treatments from Aesthetic Dentistry to routine examinations.

Our modern clinics in Oxford and Didcot provide Botox as a quick, safe, affordable and highly effective treatment for hyperhidrosis. Injecting small doses of Botox into these areas blocks the action of the nerves supplying the sweat glands, which can prevent sweat production.

How to stop your excessive sweating

Solutions to the problem of excessive sweating include good hygiene and wearing loose-fitting, cotton clothes, however in many cases this is not enough to prevent the problem entirely.

Before we begin your treatment at The Smile Practice we’ll discuss your medical history in thorough detail to rule out any possible medical causes. When you’re ready to go ahead with treatment, we will use a micro needle to inject the Botox into your skin.

We only use tiny amounts of botulinum toxin protein and apply it to the affected areas in a grid-like formation.

Did you know that excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis) is a condition affecting approximately 1% of the population. This is therefore a more common problem than you may think and is both uncomfortable and embarrassing.

Hyperhidrosis occurs when the eccrine sweat glands in the skin become overactive. These glands are located in your underarms, palms of your hands and soles of your feet, the areas that secrete the most sweat.

It is believed by most experts that hyperhidrosis is caused by the brain mistakenly sending a message to stimulate the sweat glands unnecessarily.

Hyperhidrosis can also be brought on by:

  • Stress
  • Hormones
  • Heat
  • Spicy or heavily salted food
  • Family history of hyperhidrosis

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure only lasts between 30-40 minutes and you can carry out normal daily activities within two hours.

How long will it take to see an improvement?

Excessive sweating usually decreases noticeably within two days and the results can last from anywhere between 6-12 months, after which we can provide repeat treatment.

How much does hyperhidrosis treatment cost?

The price of your treatment will depend on the area(s) being treated. Our prices start from £225 and we have ensured these are extremely competitive compared to other experts in Oxfordshire:

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
Underarms from £469.00 £400 Save £69

Benefits of Botox for hyperhidrosis

Although Botox isn’t a miracle cure for hyperhidrosis, it can dramatically improve your confidence by reducing excessive sweat production. This means you’ll be able to enjoy your day-to-day life without having to consider the effects of hyperhidrosis.

For example, you’ll be able to go on holiday to hotter destinations, exercise without worry or even just hold hands with a loved one without having to worry about excessive sweating.

Despite the fact that individuals have different responses to treatment, research suggests an average of 87% reduction in sweat production one week after Botox treatment, with significant reduction in 95% of patients.

Are there any side effects?

Botox is a very safe procedure and does not typically produce side effects. You may experience mild bruising after the procedure but this should subside within a few days.

I am dropping a note to say thanks for all the work you have done for me, I am aware that I am not the easiest of patients. Your patience and explanations whilst work is underway was very much appreciated. The bridge work is really outstanding, here’s hoping I need nothing more than routine checks for some time.
